The World of Darkness
The final Crystal Tower alliance raid, concluding the story with a journey into the Void to face the Cloud of Darkness.
Angra Mainyu
The first boss with complex color and gaze mechanics.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Double Vision | AoE | Floor splits into red/white - alternate colors to avoid stacks |
| Mortal Gaze | Gaze | Look away or gain Doom - stand on lit platform to cleanse |
| Roulette | Adds | Kill 4 Final Hourglasses before cone attack completes |
| Level 100 Flare | Stack | Red circle - odd number of players inside to avoid damage |
| Level 150 Death | Spread | Purple circle - avoid multiples of 3 players inside |
Double Vision Strategy:
- Red AoE gives “Ireful” debuff, White gives “Sullen”
- Stacks reset to 1 if you alternate colors
- 2 stacks = 2,500 damage, 3 stacks = death
- Remember which color you stood in first, then switch
Mortal Gaze Strategy:
- Look away from boss during cast or get Doom
- Doom kills in 10 seconds
- Stand on lit circular platforms to cleanse
Roulette Strategy:
- 4 Final Hourglasses spawn at arena edge
- Kill all 4 before cone finishes rotating
- Don’t stand in the lit quarter when last Hourglass dies
Level Mechanics:
- Level 100 Flare: Even number of players = massive damage
- Level 150 Death: Multiples of 3 players = instant death
- Run out of circles to cancel, or ensure correct player counts
Five-headed Dragon
A chimera-type boss with voice attacks and slime mechanics.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Ram’s Voice | AoE | Move away from boss - interruptible |
| Dragon’s Voice | AoE | Move underneath boss - interruptible |
| Ice Floor | AoE | Expanding ice AoE - causes Deep Freeze if touched |
| Poison Puddles | Adds | Spawn Poison Slimes - one player should stand in puddle |
| Discordance | Adds | Kill 5 extra heads or wipe - use AoE |
| Stack Marker | Stack | 3-5 players stack on marked player |
| Prominence Orbs | Adds | Kill before they explode (Radiance) |
| Dragonfire Fly | Spread | Tether applies stacking debuff - transfer to another player |
| Heatwave | Raidwide | Every action deals 500 damage for 5 seconds - stop moving |
Slime Strategy:
- Orange circle leaves poison puddle spawning Poison Slimes
- Kill slimes before they merge into Toxic Slime
- One player in puddle prevents more slimes spawning
- Toxic Slime explodes for heavy damage if not killed
Dragonfire Fly Strategy:
- Untargetable tether applies stacking Suppuration debuff
- Reduces max HP and increases damage taken
- Touch another player to transfer the tether before death
Heatwave (Low HP):
- For 5 seconds, every action deals 500 self-damage
- Stop ALL movement and attacks during this window
Cerberus
A three-headed beast requiring the famous “belly” mechanic.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Thrashing | Adds | Boss becomes unchained - belly phase required |
| Gastric Juice | Adds | Stand near to get Mini debuff |
| Purple Puddle | AoE | Stand in with Mini to get Devoured by boss |
| Stomach Adds | Adds | Kill wall adds inside Cerberus |
| Chains | Adds | Re-chain boss using Open Fetters when he collapses |
| Tail Swipe | Cleave | Cone behind boss - avoid |
| Ululation | Raidwide | Stay near party members or get feared for 15 seconds |
Belly Phase Strategy (DPS Rush - Preferred):
- All DPS get Mini debuff from Gastric Juice add
- Stand in purple puddle to get Devoured (no Mini = instant death)
- One healer joins to keep DPS alive inside
- Kill stomach wall adds
- Boss collapses when adds die
- Outside players re-chain boss using Open Fetters
Alternative ABC Strategy:
- Alliance A: Kill Wolfsbane adds (cleave poison, need tank)
- Alliance B: Go into belly
- Alliance C: Tank boss, handle chains
Notes:
- If belly adds not killed or boss not re-chained, Haste/Damage Up stacks wipe raid
- Fewer than 5 players outside = immediate eject without collapse
- DPS Rush is faster and safer with modern gear
Cloud of Darkness
The final boss of Crystal Tower, a Voidsent ruler.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Tank DoT | Tankbuster | Powerful auto-attack with DoT - keep tank safe |
| Feint Particle Beam | Spread | Red crosshairs chase player - run to edge away from raid |
| Zero-form Particle Beam | AoE | Massive laser through center when boss moves - go to sides |
| Comet Towers | Stack | Stand in yellow circles before comet lands |
| Dark Cloud/Storm | Adds | Kill before boss eats them or she gains Damage Up |
| Hypercharged Clouds | Adds | Three clouds in triangle - each alliance kills one |
| Shadowlurkers | Adds | Worm adds - hit once or twice to make disappear |
Feint Particle Beam Strategy:
- Chasing blasts at running speed
- Each blast adds Vulnerability Up - will kill if you stop
- Run toward arena edge, away from all other players
Zero-form Particle Beam Strategy:
- When boss disappears or moves around ring, laser fires through center
- Immediately move to arena sides
- No ground telegraph - watch boss position
Comet Towers Strategy:
- Yellow circle markers appear
- At least one person per marker before comet lands
- Empty comets cause moderate raid damage
- Several empty = wipe
Add Management:
- Dark Cloud (small) = 1 stack if eaten
- Dark Storm (large) = 3 stacks if eaten
- Too many stacks = wipe
- Clouds can be Heavy’d but not Bound
- Stand between clouds and boss to Heavy them
Hypercharged Cloud Strategy:
- Three clouds spawn in triangle formation
- Box-shaped outlines around each
- Cannot damage clouds outside their box after a few seconds
- Each alliance takes one cloud (can use waymarks)
- Kill before Particle Beam cast finishes or massive explosion
Notes:
- This is the final raid of A Realm Reborn’s 24-man series
- Unlike earlier Crystal Tower raids, mechanics cannot be entirely ignored
- Close to maximum item level 130 for level 50, so still somewhat challenging
