The Labyrinth of the Ancients
The first Crystal Tower alliance raid, introducing 24-player content to A Realm Reborn. Required for main story progression into Shadowbringers.
Bone Dragon
The first boss encounter, fought in an arena with rising poison pools.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Poison Floor | AoE | Purple poison fills lower areas - stay on raised green platforms |
| Skeleton Adds | Adds | Three waves spawn - kill before they reach the dragon |
| Resurrection | Adds | Dead skeletons resurrect and move toward dragon |
| Floating Eyes | Adds | Spawn on final resurrection - tanks pick up, DPS focus boss |
Strategy:
- Tank Bone Dragon on center platform
- Kill skeletons away from each other to slow their resurrection movement
- Each skeleton reaching the boss deals 1,500 unblockable raid damage
- On third resurrection, floating eyes spawn instead - tanks grab them while DPS burns boss
Atomos
A three-lane encounter requiring alliance coordination.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Platform Mechanic | AoE | 4 players stand on glowing platform to disable barrier on another Atomos |
| Adds | Adds | Continuously spawn - tanks move them within platform player range |
Strategy:
- Split into three groups by alliance (A left, B middle, C right)
- 4 players (preferably ranged/healers) stand on each colored platform
- This removes the color-coded barrier around a different alliance’s Atomos
- Other 4 players in each group focus on killing their Atomos
- If a sector lacks enough players, Iron Giants spawn and wipe the raid
Thanatos
A ghostly Iron Giant requiring special mechanics to damage.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Astral Realignment | Adds | Buff from Magic Pots allowing damage to boss |
| Magic Pots | Adds | Three friendly pots in corners - heal them if damaged |
| Cleave | Cleave | Frontal cleave - face boss away from pots and party |
| Add Chains | Adds | Red lines connect adds to pots - kill adds immediately |
Strategy:
- Magic Pots grant Astral Realignment buff to players (Alliance A first)
- Only players with buff can damage Thanatos
- Tank with buff picks up boss, tank swap when buff transfers
- Players without buff kill adds that spawn throughout fight
- Adds with red lines to pots are pulling pots toward boss - kill immediately
- Keep Magic Pots alive or you cannot damage the boss
Allagan Bomb (Mini-Boss)
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Vassago Swords | Adds | Three large sword adds (A left, B north, C right) |
| Allagan Balloons | Adds | High priority - kill before reaching center |
| Napalm | Adds | Highest priority add - kill immediately |
Strategy:
- Each tank stands in front of assigned Vassago to prevent it running to center
- Kill priority: Napalm > Balloons > Vassagos
- Balloons reaching center enlarge the bomb - too many = wipe
- Vassagos gain invulnerability if HP difference is too large - kill evenly
King Behemoth
A coordination-heavy fight with meteor mechanics.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Iron Giant | Adds | Tanks not on boss pick up and face away from party |
| Comet Markers | AoE | Green marker above head - stand outside boss hitbox to drop comet |
| Tower Mechanic | AoE | Ranged/healers activate glowing towers (often skipped due to gear) |
| Ecliptic Meteor | Raidwide | Stand behind a comet or die instantly |
Strategy:
- Off-tanks grab Iron Giants and face away (frontal cleaves)
- Players with green markers drop comets outside boss hitbox
- Iron Giants try to destroy comets - kill before all comets destroyed
- When King Behemoth stands up for Ecliptic Meteor, hide behind a comet
- Comets inside boss hitbox don’t provide protection
Phlegethon
The final boss with platform-based mechanics.
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Frontal Cleave | Cleave | Untelegraphed - non-tanks avoid standing in front |
| Iron Hand Adds | Adds | Stun nearby targets - kill them |
| Ancient Flare | Raidwide | Move to assigned platform or wipe |
Ancient Flare Strategy:
- At ~40-50% HP, Phlegethon moves to center and casts Ancient Flare
- Each alliance runs to assigned platform (A left, B center, C right)
- Enough players on each platform creates a barrier
- Insufficient players = no barrier = wipe
- Repeats at ~5-15% HP (can burn boss if < 6% when cast starts)
Notes:
- Due to no item level sync, most mechanics are easily skipped in modern runs
- Waymarks A, B, C placed left to right help with platform assignments
- Healers can Rescue players lagging behind during Ancient Flare
