The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 5
The climactic finale of the Binding Coil, featuring Twintania - one of the most iconic and challenging fights of A Realm Reborn. This fight tests coordination, positioning, and individual skill.
Twintania
A multi-phase fight with several deadly mechanics that require precise execution.
Phase 1 (100% - 85%)
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Death Sentence | Tankbuster | Heavy physical damage with Physical Vulnerability stacking - requires cooldowns |
| Plummet | Cleave | Frontal cleave dealing significant damage to the tank |
Phase 2 - Divebombs (85% - 55%)
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Divebombs | AoE | Twintania disappears and divebombs marked players in sequence |
| Neurolink | AoE | Drops puddles that apply heavy debuff - used later for mechanics |
| Adds | Adds | Scourge of Meracydia adds spawn and must be killed |
Notes:
- Watch for green markers indicating divebomb targets
- Spread out and bait divebombs away from the raid
- Kill adds quickly before they overwhelm healers
Phase 3 - Twisters (55% - 29%)
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Twisters | AoE | Small tornadoes spawn under players at end of cast - instant death if touched |
| Fireballs | Stack | Red triangle marks a player - party stacks to share damage |
Twister Strategy:
- At the end of Twintania’s Twister cast, tornadoes appear under players
- You must move away immediately - running into a twister is instant death
- Twisters also knock back nearby players into walls
- Players are typically assigned specific spots to move to
Fireball Strategy:
- Collapse to middle to share damage after spreading for Twisters
- The marked player should not run away
Phase 4 - Hatch (29% - 0%)
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Hatch | AoE | Orbs spawn that deal massive damage - stand in Neurolink to absorb safely |
| Twisters | AoE | Continue from Phase 3 |
| Fireballs | Stack | Continue from Phase 3 |
Notes:
- Use Neurolinks dropped in Phase 2 to safely absorb Hatch orbs
- Maintain Twister and Fireball strategies while handling Hatch
- This is the final push - save cooldowns and Limit Break
General Notes:
- Recommended to use Party Finder rather than Duty Finder due to long queue times
- Practice Twister movement extensively - it’s the most common wipe cause
- Tank swaps may be needed for Death Sentence stacks
- This fight does not appear in roulettes
