The Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4
Turn 4 is a DPS-intensive raid taking place on a descending lift with six phases, each lasting approximately one minute. Failing to clear a phase in time causes the next phase to begin on top of it.
General Strategy
Optimal Composition: 2 Tanks, 2 Healers, 2 Magical DPS, 2 Physical DPS
Different enemy types have resistances:
- Knights have Stoneskin (reflects magical damage) - kill with physical DPS
- Soldiers absorb physical damage - kill with magical DPS
- Dreadnoughts deal high frontal damage - never stand in front
Phase 1
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwork Bugs x6 | Adds | Six bugs spawn - tanks round them up, use AoE damage |
Notes: Physical DPS should conserve TP to allow mages to deal bulk damage.
Phase 2
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwork Soldiers x2 | Adds | Absorb physical damage - magical DPS priority |
| Clockwork Knights x2 | Adds | Have Stoneskin reflecting magic - physical DPS priority |
Notes: Each tank takes one Soldier and one Knight. Coordinate DPS accordingly.
Phase 3
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwork Dreadnought | Adds | High priority target - heals by consuming bugs |
| Clockwork Bugs x4 | Adds | Secondary priority - Dreadnought feeds on them |
Notes: Kill the Dreadnought before Phase 4 begins or it may heal to full. Never stand in front of Dreadnoughts.
Phase 4
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwork Bugs x6 | Adds | Similar to Phase 1 |
| Spinner-rooks x2 | Adds | Reduce maximum HP of players |
Notes: Use heavy AoE damage. Black Mages should save Convert for Double Flare with Quelling Strikes.
Phase 5
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Clockwork Soldier | Adds | Magical DPS priority |
| Clockwork Knight | Adds | Physical DPS priority |
| Clockwork Dreadnought | Adds | High priority - handle frontal cleave |
Notes: Combines earlier phase mechanics. Coordinate tank positioning and DPS targeting.
Phase 6
Final phase with the remaining adds. Clear everything before the lift reaches the bottom.
Notes:
- This fight is a pure DPS check with no traditional boss
- Communication between physical and magical DPS is critical
- If behind on DPS, use Limit Break on Dreadnoughts
