Asphodelos: The First Circle
The first fight of the Pandaemonium raid series. Erichthonios, warden of Asphodelos, has been corrupted and must be stopped.
Erichthonios
A straightforward introduction to Endwalker’s raid mechanics, teaching positioning and AoE awareness.
Key Mechanics
| Mechanic | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Gaoler’s Flail | Cleave | Watch which hand glows - cleaves that half of arena. Move to safe side |
| Warder’s Wrath | Raidwide | Heavy party-wide damage - shield and heal |
| Heavy Hand | Tankbuster | Physical tankbuster - tank cooldowns required |
| Intemperance | AoE | Colored crystals appear - match or contrast colors to avoid damage |
| Shining Cells | Raidwide | Arena-wide damage that leaves colored floor tiles |
| Aetherflail | Cleave + AoE | Combination of flail cleave and additional AoEs |
| Pitiless Flail | Tankbuster + Knockback | Tankbuster with knockback - position carefully |
| Slam Shut | Raidwide | Damages entire party when cells activate |
Intemperance (Colored Cubes)
The signature mechanic of this fight:
- Red cubes = Fire damage
- Blue cubes = Ice damage
- Cubes stack in 3 layers and resolve from bottom to top
- Standing on matching color = Small damage
- Standing on opposite color = Neutralizes, no damage
- Standing on same color 3 times = Heavy damage/vuln stacks
Strategy: Alternate between red and blue tiles as cubes resolve. Watch which color is about to explode and stand on the opposite.
Tips
- For Gaoler’s Flail, watch the glowing hand - move to the opposite side
- During Intemperance, count the cube colors from bottom to top
- Tanks should communicate for Pitiless Flail knockback positioning
- Healers prepare for Warder’s Wrath with shields and regens
- Spread loosely to make positional mechanics easier
